"But a more affordable version of a drug is $200 for a 15-day supply. Generics are priced in the same way as a brand-name drug. So the amount of drug that can be sold over the counter may not be much higher than the cost of a brand-name drug."
A different study by Sanofi-Aventis (SFA) revealed that 20% to 30% of the cost to treat GERD is spent on nonprescription drugs.
